Mondays can be the hardest day of the week. You’re trying to shift from relaxation to productivity and sometimes that’s easier said than done. Working out may be the last thing on your mind, but here a Positively Running we understand how important it is. Here are a few reasons to bump working out to the top of your Monday list....
It sets you up for the rest of the week
If you exercise on Monday, you’re more likely to hit the gym for the rest of the week. Whereas, if you skip Monday, you’re more likely to skip Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Thursday. It’s all about creating an effective habit.
You’ll have a better day
Kicking off your Monday with an exercise routine can give you the energy you need to be successful for the rest of your day. You’ll start your Monday with high energy, rather than waiting for your morning coffee to kick in around 11:00am.
You’ll feel more confident
Exercising on a Monday will make you feel better about the upcoming week and the potentially unhealthy foods you ate over the weekend. Starting your Monday with a bang will give you the confidence you need to be awesome for the rest of the week!
You won’t dread the rest of the week
If you had a successful and happy Monday, the rest of the week won’t seem so daunting. Or, at the very least, if you had a stressful Monday, you can end it with a workout session to release the stress from your day. Tuesday is a new day!
It can stop stress before it starts
Exercise gives you endorphins and endorphins make you happy. You’ll be happy before you’re able to be stressed out. Plus, if you work out in the morning, you will have extra time to mentally prepare or plan for your day. While you’re walking on the treadmill, make a list of things you need to do today. While doing laps around the track, schedule out your day. That way, when you walk into work, you know exactly how your day is going to go.
